The Causes of Disaster

By Charles S. Brocato, M.Sc., D.D.

In reading the first draft of Dr. Charles S. Brocato's book, The Two-Fold Chastisement: Visions of The Coming Earth Changes, as seen through 14 centuries of Holy Seers Prophecies, I observed an interesting correlation. Natural disasters and wars can be postponed, mitigated, or even averted, or enhanced, if certain proscriptions are/are not followed from heaven.

In 1846, on September 19th, in La Salette, France, a small village at the base of the Pelvoux mountain range, two shepherd children, Maximin Giraud, an 11 year old boy; and Melanie Calvat, 15, but small and retiring for her age, were watching their cows. In this desolate, mountainous area, they saw a sphere of fire on the ground.

They said, "The Sun has fallen there." The sphere slowed its swirling, enlarged, and opened. In it they saw a woman of indescribable beauty, dressed in regional garb, seated with her head in her hands, her elbows on her knees. She was crying with great grief. On her head was a crown of light energy that radiated with brilliance.

She wore a diadem of roses; still more roses trimmed the border of her white shawl. Her bonnet was that of a peasant woman. She wore a heavy chain from which hung a smaller, golden chain that held an exquisite crucifix. The Lady, more brilliant than the sun, stood and said, "Come near, my Children, be not afraid. I am here to tell you great news." Throughout this entire discourse, she continually cried !

She told them the causes of her grief. At that time, that area and other regions in France were suffering harvest failures. She listed two major causes of this, and said that if these were not corrected, a worse famine was about to descend. She said:

There will come a great famine. Before the famine comes, the children under seven years of age will be siezed [sic] with trembling and will die in the hands of those who hold them; the others will do penance by the famine.
The walnuts will become bad, and the grapes will rot !

The two major causes of the potato and wheat famines, and the dire warning of the predicted events if they didn't stop doing what they were doing were given as:

"Six days I have given you labor, the seventh I have kept for myself; and they will not give it to me." It is this which makes the arm of my Son so heavy.
Those who drive the carts cannot swear without introducing the name of my Son. These are the two things which make the arm of my Son so heavy.

These peasant children did not know who the Lady was. They only referred to her as "The Beautiful Lady" who cried through the whole apparition. The children only knew she was greatly different from anyone they had ever met. They describe her last words and departure thus:

Well, my children, you will make this well known to all my people.

This was evidently very important to heaven's visitor, for she now, still crying, addressed them directly. Turning to her left, she passed in front of the two and crossed a little stream, stepping on stones as she did. She was now some distance from them, and they suddenly realized their visitor was leaving.

They quickly ran and overtook her. The Beautiful Lady was now gracefully walking over the grass tips. She repeated her last request again without looking at them this time. By now, she had reached a small rise in the ground.

The children suddenly noticed she was air-borne and rising slowly. At this time, they noticed the Beautiful Lady had ceased crying. She began to disappear. "We saw her head no more, then the rest of the body no more; she seemed to melt away.

There remained a great light," the boy said. "We looked for a long time," Melanie said, "to see if we could not have another glimpse of her," but she was now gone.

But because the people continued in their ways in 1846, a worse and more terrible famine did come to them. The children did die "quaking" in the arms of those holding them.

Now keep in mind the two major causes Our Blessed Mother listed for the problems in Europe at that time were mainly work on Sundays , and taking The Lord's name in vain.

Seventy one years later, at Fątima, near Lisbon, Portugal, this beautiful lady appeared again, this time to three children, Jacinta and Francisco Marto, brother and sister, ages 7 and 9; and Lucia dos Santos, their cousin, a girl of ten years old.

Her message was similar to that of La Salette: Stop working on Sundays ! Stop using My Son's name in Vain. It appears man added another sin to the long list, Infidelity in Marriage. "...Blasphemies, work on Sunday, and desecration of marriage," those were her exact words.

She told the three peasant children that if man did not stop committing these major sins, and others she listed, then a new and more terrible war would come. Recall, in 1917, World War I was raging, but she promised it would soon end-it did. And World War II, a more terrible war, did come.

Now, from the appearances of things since then, recalling these messages given in Dr. Brocato's book, I notice on Sundays, people mowing grass, small to giant corporations requiring people to work on this day too, and the alarming media reports of infidelity in marriage, along with the loss of a sense of sin in America and other parts of the world, I wonder how long it will take before "another new and more terrible war" makes its appearance.

The following prophecy for future disasters was given at La Salette, and echoed at Fątima. Here are a few excerpts from La Salette and Fątima's secret messages.

Water and fire in the interior of the earth will rage violently and cause terrible earthquakes, whereby mountains and cities will sink into the depths.
Earthquakes will also devour whole countries. The devil will use all malice to bring persons into the religious orders who are addicted to sin. Temples shall be erected for the worship of demons.... There shall be a frightful general war" In every place, there will be seen extraordinary prodigies.
The stars will depart from their regular course. The moon will only give a weak reddish light. Terrible rain and hail will come with animals falling from the heavens, thunder and lightning burning down entire cities. Water in the interior of the earth will rage violently and cause terrible earthquakes. Fire will rain from Heaven, and destroy three cities.
Finally the sun will be darkened and faith alone will give light [this latter bespeaks of The Three Days' Darkness that is forecast by many seers and some of the best Catholic prophecies of past saints and present religious].

At Fątima, the Blessed Mother said, "Wars are a result of sin," and other disasters, too. If man continually ignores God's heavenly messenger, he will bring the Chastisement on himself.

Back to where you were.
